We take stock of a very impressive Spring so far here at Oval Space with all manner of events, from conferences, to orchestral performances, club nights and even an evening of boxing.

DigitalAgenda’s Impact Award

DigitalAgenda’s Impact Award celebrate the digital innovations that improve lives and the world around us, and on March 7th, we welcomed the ceremony back to Oval Space. The afternoon awards ceremony celebrated the best in UK tech-for-good innovation, hearing from entrepreneurs, funders, academics and big business working to make a difference through digital products and services.

Vevolution presents She Loves Plants

To celebrate International Women’s Day, March 10th saw Oval Space host She Loves Plants, an event bringing together the badass plant-powered girl gang for a day of inspiration and community. Vevolution held their first large event with us way back in 2016 – it was lovely to welcome them back and see how much their messages of plant-based lifestyles and inspiring women who are creating positive change in the world has grown in 3 years.

ConcertLab:The Sound Within & Southbank Sinfonia

On May 27th, Oval Space got classical, with the Southbank Sinfonia serving up Beethoven’s mighty ‘Eroica’ Symphony for #ConcertLab Forgoing the conventional dynamics of a live-music performance, the musicians were scattered across the room, inviting attendees to explore the vibrations and energy of the ensemble - as well as Beethoven’s changing relationship with sound - as they roamed between players, gaining new sonic perspectives.

HitClub

HitClub is a social charitable movement that combines amateur boxing and fundraising in perfect harmony. After an intense training camp, participating boxers took to the ring at Oval Space on April 13th, raising over £175,00 for charity and putting on a fantastic show.

Oval Space with Andrew Weatherall, Roman Flugel, Radioactive Man, Minou

Finally, we highlight the tireless work of our in-house music team, consistently programming some of the finest artists across the electronic music spectrum. In late March, we hosted something very special; sets from acid house legend Andrew Weatherall, fellow Two Lone Swordsman alumni Radioactive Man, German dance music chameleon Roman Flugel, plus support from rising London DJ Minou.
